Maui Beach and Park weddings
Some couples planning very small Maui weddings have the option of not booking a wedding venue at all. A micro-wedding allows for wedding day flexibility (sometimes adventure) and access to some truly stunning scenery. The top of Maui's massive volcano, Haleakala, becomes an option, as do rocky sea cliffs and more remote beaches. Your officiant or wedding photographer can pull permits for your ceremony and photos on public land. When no wedding venue is booked the rain plan is sometimes getting in a car and heading in a different direction, but on Maui most directions are beautiful. It's important to note that chairs and other décor must not be set up on public lands but the scenery is such that enhancement is unnecessary.
It is possible to get a permit for an elopement or small wedding on most Maui beaches. The lava cliffs of Kapalua are also popular and offer a dramatic setting.
There are a limited number of accessible waterfalls where an elopement is possible, weather permitting.
Day-after sessions can be another way to incorporate the natural beauty of Maui into your wedding imagery if your wedding-day timeline does not comfortably allow for travel to the scenery which inspires you.
