Haiku Mill
The Haiku Mill is one of Maui's best-known wedding venues with a 150 year history, beginning as a functional sugar mill on Maui's north shore. Today it's a lush, private two-acre estate featuring the vine-draped stone ruins of the old Mill which is the main space for hosting wedding ceremonies and elegant receptions. The mostly open-air structure's stone and vintage French railings are draped in greenery and punctuated with crystal chandeliers. There is a glass roof over the ceremony area and the rest of the Mill can be tented if desired.
the 100+ year-old mango tree provides shade for the bar and cocktail hour. the antique cane house is a perfect spot to get dressed.
couple portraits are often made around the Haiku Mill's gardens and antique architectural features while guests enjoy cocktails under the giant mango tree and the interior of the mill itself is converted for dinner.
the Haiku Mill weathers well
I never worry about photographing weddings at the Haiku Mill in Maui's rainier winter. The glass roof is a beautiful cover for small weddings, but there are two other structures on the property: the lofty draped courtyard and the "cane house" where the bride usually gets dressed, both provide beautiful settings for wedding photography. The incredible botanical surroundings are also a photographic gift and unforgettable experience for wedding guests.
