Kualoa Ranch
Nestled on Oahu’s stunning windward coast, Kualoa Ranch is a dream venue for couples seeking a mix of natural beauty and cinematic grandeur. Famous for its lush valleys, towering mountains, and ocean views, this 4,000-acre property offers one primary wedding venue, Paliku Gardens, which is a multi-tiered set of venues within a venue! Photoshoots in other areas of the vast property, like Jumanji, Basecamp or Moli’i Gardens or Secret Island are also a possibility but Paliku Gardens are where events are held. This venue is suitable for large or small weddings. Kualoa Ranch provides an unforgettable setting steeped in Hawaiian history and unparalleled scenery.
Wedding PrepAration
Kualoa Ranch has one house with a large event space which can be used for wedding preparation, however most couples choose to get ready off-site in nearby accommodations before arriving at the venue.
Ceremonies
Kualoa Ranch ceremonies at this time are held at Paliku Gardens, perched above the ranch with panoramic views of the Koʻolau mountains and Mokoliʻi Island. For smaller gathering it is worth exploring the option of Moli’i Gardens which offer a secluded and lush setting at sea level.
Afternoon ceremonies are popular to take advantage of the softer light and cooler temperatures, with golden hour providing a magical glow over the landscape. Each location can be customized with décor, but the breathtaking scenery requires little enhancement.
COCKTAIL HOUR
Kualoa Ranch is a spectacular backdrop for cocktail hour, and this portion of the event is typically held on one of the lower terraces near the reception seating. The multi-terraced property allows for great overview shots of cocktail hour.
Receptions
Receptions at Kualoa Ranch are typically held on the large flat lawn of Paliku Gardens, just below the ceremony site. Couples are welcome to bring in their own catering teams and vendors which may range from shave ice and other food trucks to photobooths.
Portraits
Kualoa Ranch is one of my favorite venues in all of the islands for its soft light, sweeping vistas and iconic green mountains. The dramatic Koʻolau cliffs provide a striking contrast to the lush greenery, while the tranquil Secret Island Beach is perfect for romantic oceanfront shots. Paliku Gardens offers elevated views that capture the essence of Oahu’s windward coast, including the iconic Mokoliʻi Island in the distance.
