This gorgeous Olowalu Plantation House Maui wedding was recently featured on Ruffled Blog. Their descriptions of the batik linens, coral and meringue hued florals and midcentury furniture vignettes exceed what I can produce in terms of copy, but happily I have the wedding photos to do the talking for me. I've said it before but it bears repeating that Olowalu Plantation House is one of the premier Maui wedding venues; the weather is almost always excellent, the open spaces surrounded by massive trees are pleasant at any time of the day and the jetty out into the ocean provides unparalleled views of the West Maui Mountains in the background with ocean views in varied lighting all around.
Also of note, this portrait session was one of my favourites of the year- the bride rocked the windy conditions at the end of the jetty with a quick tutorial on veil management by me, and I think we got some dynamic, moody images even though the wind was at times on the awkward side. You would never know it from what we got. And the groom followed her lead in unselfconscious affection and enjoyment of that time (almost) alone out in the wind, before heading back to the party. We made one more trip out to the end of the jetty well into the party after I set up for some stargazing shots. You can see their highlights video by the wonderful Caleb of No Ka Oi media here.
