DESTINATION TUSCANY

Although I am based in Maui which is a popular destination for weddings in its own right, my last trip to Europe (since having kids) was a big revelation for me and I was acutely aware of how much I had missed it. Even a destination wedding photographer needs to shoot other destinations from time to time and this wedding of two sweet American ladies was a beautiful opportunity. It was early November, the end of the Tuscan wedding season, and it rained off and on during the day but was dry for the ceremony and dinner at a long farm table under the grape vines next to the main house. The couple and a portion of their guests had been staying at The Lazy Olive Villa for a few days already, and so were already ‘at home’ at the venue which is a family owned and operated olive farm. The clouds gave way to a beautiful sunset as we sat down to dip bread in olive oil pressed that very morning and enjoy home cooked Italian food. It was perfection. I intend to return to Italy this year as well so if you or someone you know is considering an elopement or destination wedding in Europe please reach out. It would be good for the soul to be a tuscan / italian / destination photographer every year.
